ANCESTRAL STIGMATA was formed in 1993 by Giuseppe Di Napoli (vocals, guitar, keyboards). The first line up featured Antonio Pollizzi (guitar), Sascha Radtz (bass) and Daniele Cervone (drums). In the end of 1993 the drummer was replaced by Antonio Marcon and in october 1994 the band recorded their first demo-tape "ADUMBRATE", which obtained good reviews. In december1995 a second demo-tape was recorded "DARK SIDE OF THE MIND" (which also got good reviews on music magazines)...

In 1996 the band parted ways with the bassist and the drummer in the meanwhile G. Di Napoli and A. Pollizzi continued to compose new songs. In march 1997 two new members joined the line- up: Daniele Lucchina (bass) and Omar Cappetti (drums). The band entered the studio straight away to record their first mcd "DE TRANQUILLITATE ANIMAE"; this product was pretty successful and got excellent reviews on various italian and international music magazines.
In 1999- 2000 the first full lenght album "SPIRIT" was released and distributed in Italy by the label SELF and worldwide by different labels, obtaining great reviews on music mags and a great feedback among the listeners.
SPIRIT gave Ancestral the chance to become more widely known in Italy and abroad and was an album which clearly distinguished the band from the many italian bands of that time.
The following years all band members went separate ways in order to play with other bands but always kept in touch with each other.
In 2005 the meeting of D.N.G. with Alzani Sergio inspired the creation of new material and stimulated the search for missing band members in order to rehearse and eventually record.
A year and half later, in mid 2006, drummer Omar Cappetti rejoined the band and with the help of Davide Stura on bass ( who then recorded a few songs) and after some rehearsals the band started to record at D.N.G. 's own recording studio UNDERSILENCE STUDIO.
Recentely, nearly a decade after the release of the album "SPIRIT", the band recorded a new album "THE SECOND SON OF GOD". With this work ANCENSTRAL STIGMATA intend to catch labels and distributors attention hoping to give the band the recognition they deserve after 17 years of activity.
