With his debut album, "Seven Good Wishes", the Switzerland-based guitarist and composer Babak Nemati, of Iranian origins, presents himself. The seven tracks on the album flow humbly and expose the listener to a unique form of modern jazz, where poetry and gentleness alternate with playful and cheeky melodies, though quite fiery and deep.
This colourful quartet is proud of its absolutely experienced and innovative musicians such as, among others, the gifted virtuoso and multi-instrumentalist from Barcelona Carles Peris on tenor sax and flute.
The interaction is underscored by the very attuned and energetic rhythm section: bassist Beat Gisler and drummer Olaf Ryter. These musicians move light-footed and skilfully among odd meters and sometimes even free floating shapes, in various styles. With the songs "Secrets" and "Thousand And One Nights", the composer has not forgotten his Eastern roots. Between authenticity and variety, sonorous colours touch his melodies and leave the listener with unique moments. The final result is a varied and exiting album, which is never too heavy and therefore easily accessible to all.

Mit dem Debüt Album: "Seven Good Wishes" präsentiert, der in der Schweiz lebende, iranische Gitarrist und Komponist Babak Nemati, sieben seiner Eigenkompositionen.
Die melodischen Sequenzen fliessen facettenreich und demütig von Song zu Song ineinander und erzählen mal poetisch und sanft, manchmal verspielt und frech,
aber durchaus feurig und mit tiefgründigen Klängen, ihre eigene Form des Modern Jazz.

Dieses bunte Quartett ist vollends mit erfahrenen und innovativen Musikern besetzt: unteranderem mit dem begnadeten und virtuosen Multiinstrumentalisten aus Barcelona: Carles Peris am Tenor Saxophon und Querflöte. Das Zusammenspiel untermalt die sehr gut aufeinander eingespielte und energiegeladene Rhythmusgruppe: Beat Gisler am Bass und Olaf Ryter am Schlagzeug. Die Musiker bewegen sich leichtfüssig und gekonnt in ungeraden Metren und manchmal sogar frei schwebend von Formen, in verschiedenen Stilrichtungen.
Mit den Songs "Secrets" und "Thousand And One Nights" hat der Komponist auch seine Wurzeln aus dem Morgenland nicht ganz vergessen und glänzend mit einfliessen lassen.
Zwischen Authentizität und unterschiedlichster, klangvoller Färbung, berühren seine Melodien und hinterlassen einzigartige Momente. So ist ein sehr vielseitiges und spannendes Album entstanden, ohne je kopflastig zu werden und immer leicht zugänglich für offene Ohren.
