Born in a damp rehearsal room at the foot of the Lake Lugano, Switzerland, Blend71 is a five piece, female fronted band. Their sound, a mixture of alternative, metal, crossover is a combination of a merciless wall of guitars, hard pounding drums, groovy bass-licks and a wicked, colorful female voice, which scares every dedicated listener to death. Their first EP Blend71 was released on October 2005 on the Swiss label T:d:M Thunderdome. The Mini Album received excellent feedbacks and reviews from several magazines, webzines and was played by many Swiss radio stations. During 2006, promoting their EP, Blend71 was busy in many live exhibitions that touched the whole Swiss territory and international locations. From the catchy song Out of my head the band realized a videoclip (see all the band music videos on youtube.com/blend71). The video soon aroused considerable interest from the audience and in August 2006 was selected to be part of the Box[ur]shorts Californian Film Festival Fall program and was screened at some Café Lounges of New York City, Los Angeles and Basel (Switzerland). In 2007, besides concerts, Blend71 busied themselves in the writing and realization of a new LP. The production of their debut album Signs was given again to Ste Scenini @ Stairwaystudio in Melano, while the mastering to the experience of Tom Hutten (Foo Fighters, Iggy Pop, Soulfly). This full length album, released on December 2008, consists of numbers inspired by particular concepts and holds melodies and expressiveness drawn from the singer and the musicians very own emotions, melancholy, delights and sorrows. During 2009, with the new work Signs, Blend71 gained good reviews and had also the possibility to play live in prestigious festivals like the June ‘09 Greenfield edition in Interlaken, Switzerland on the Mycokemusic stage. The band spent the whole year 2010 in composing and pre-recording the new material for their next album and on May 2011 enjoyed a mini tour in England. In early summer 2011 Blend71 finished the recording of their third album Inside your cage; the songs are sounding absolutely amazing and the band can’t wait for their new work to be out for everyone to hear.
