Born in October 2004 in a damp rehearsal room at the foot of Lake Lugano, Switzerland, Blend71 is a five-piece female fronted band that offers a sound composed of a mixture of Alternative-Metal-Crossover.
Their first album Blend71, produced by Stefano Scenini (Stairway Studio) and mastered by Tom Hutten (Bionic Mastering) was released in 2005 on the Swiss label T:d:M Thunderdome. The first single It doesn’t matter immediately gets a great consensus in the Swiss radio and was followed by the single Out of my head, that gave the opportunity to the band to be known internationally thanks also to the videoclip produced by Jasmina von Büren, which was selected to be part of the Box[ur]shorts Californian Film Festival Fall program and was screened at some Café Lounges of New York City, Los Angeles and Basel (Switzerland). With these early successes Blend71 had the opportunity to perform in several concerts in Switzerland, Germany and Italy gaining great experience.
After an intense live activity that kept them busy throughout 2006 and part of 2007, the Swiss quintet started the production of their second album Signs, always produced by Stefano Scenini and mastered by Tom Hutten. The mood in this new work is much more massive, allowing for further emotions the singer, who express herself wonderfully about these new sounds.
Signs was released in December 2008 on the Swiss label Thexoomo and collected good reviews in magazines and webzines all over the globe launching the band into a new season of concerts that took them, in July 2009, on the stage of the prestigious Greenfield Festival in Interlaken, Switzerland and in May 2011 with a tour in England.
Back from the British tour and full of enthusiasm, Blend71 began the production of their third album Inside your cage.
Songs like Egomania, Nasty or Game, Shame contained in Signs, trace the path desired by the five musicians for the composition of the new album. Deliberately, Inside your cage will be even more dense and scratchy and the experience gained on the road by the band affects the quality of their works. The ten tracks on the new album are powerful and well balanced with each other, the lyrics are well developed/conceived and perfectly interpreted by the singer, who comes out with all the colors of her voice and seems easily navigate on her mates music.
Inside your cage, produced again by Stefano Scenini and mastered by Tom Hutten, was released in June 2012. The first single, which also gives its name to the album, immediately receives the attention of media and fans, reaching in a short time more than 200,000 plays on "Numberonemusic" (an U.S. artists bands fans community).
For the time being, given the crisis in music industry, Blend71 decide not to bind themself to any labels. Currently the band is working on the promotion of Inside your cage and is organizing the new concert season.
