Biography
Boxrich are a Swiss Indie rock band formed in 2009.
The band consists of lead guitarist Jonas Gerber, bassist Steven Matter, Alex Kunz on drums and Jan Enrico Hofmann on vocals/rhythm guitar.
The band was originally founded by Alex and Jan, two friends who met at university.
One night at a concert, the two of them decided that it was time to start their own band.
By the end of 2009 the other two band members had joined the band, and the first stone in Boxrich’s history had been laid.
Boxrich’s main genre is rock, but it’s not hard to notice the influence of country and punk music which has a great impact on the band’s sound.
In August 2011 the band took part in the “Island Job”, a contest for bands to win a trip to the Caribbean and the chance to have a song professionally recorded.
Out of 110 bands Boxrich made it to 4th place with the enormous support of their friends and fans.
Since then, the band has been trying to play as many gigs as possible.
With that in mind, and with the release of their first EP titled "54" in July 2012, Boxrich is ready to take it to the next level.
