Bruce Reynolds, 1 metre English /1 metre Scottish, was born in Bahrain and grew up in Central America and the Caribbean.
Now based in Switzerland he put together the Bruce Reynolds Rock Trio with Chris Jaussi on drums and Rob Aeberhard on bass. They released "Cry Wolf" - a live CD recorded in Basel this spring after warm up gigs in the Elch Club, Luna Llena, Soundwerkstatt, Cargobar, Maygut and WettsteinAllee KulturVilla.
Bruce also released his solo CD "Dedication" in 2009 with many friends from London and Switzerland including Mich Gerber.
All the various influences and experiences of his playing career have turned him into a real eclectic of the guitar. His style embraces hard rock, pure blues, gypsy swing, arabic and classical guitar. Although a fan of Satriani and the great US guitarists, he clearly comes from a British rock background and while tipping his hat to the greats such as Hendrix and Django he still manages to have something fresh and original to say on the rock guitar.
Taught classical guitar by Georges Sergides as a schoolboy. Leaving the UK for France he met gypsy swing players in the north of Paris who blew his mind with their playing and love of Django Reinhardt, one of Bruce's main influences. After a year in Germany where he played the Olympic Centre in Munich with German jazz rockers Parzival, he toured Europe with the Hectors. Settling in Switzerland for a couple of years he did 2 tours of Switzerland and Europe with Extrem-Normal, one of the happening Swiss bands of the 80's. Then followed an 8 month stint as guitarist for the Dutch Rock Opera, Ik, Jan Kremer before moving back to London in the mid 80's. One of the first jobs he got was composing the music for the Battersea Power Station Development Project. He established himself as a session player and landed the gig as guitarist with UK rock legends John McCoy and Nicky Moore in Mammoth. After Moore left the band unexpectedly in 1990 Bruce got involved in the Notting Hill gate music scene and met musicians who he worked with over the next 13 years as session and live guitarist such as U-Cef, Bill Hurley (with the Fullmoon Blues Band), songwriter Nick Graham, Mark Sayfritz (D.O.G. / Verve/ EMI) Sarah Jay, Leroy Quyntyn Band and Colin Peel as well as touring with the Gilbert O'Sullivan Band. He started working as a producer in the mid 90's with the Swiss band Big Business on their debut CD "Something Must be Wrong" (Rec Rec) This led to the production of Mich Gerber's first CD, Mystery Bay, which Bruce recorded in London and mixed in Switzerland. He then produced a solo classical guitar CD (the Classical Album), a live CD in Moscow with Bill Hurley, as well as the London Blues Band.
Five Blue with Chris Jaussi was his next production and shortly after that he moved to Switzerland where he is based now.

Amen!
Just love Cry Wolf - played it over & over. Mesmeric guitar work. If I were still editor of Guitar News Weekly & still ran guitarsite.com, I'd happily plug it... as I'm not, I'll just play it!
Rockmusic was dead for the last 30 years and the suddenly Bruce Rock Trio shows up and plays it alive again!
Thanks man...
ps. the recording sounds very good too:-)

Good work Bruce! I especially like the Juicy Lucy, and The Source. The Source is amazing... has got different vibes of the Spanish guitar, Oriental atmosphere, Michael Jackson's touch, and even that of a movie soundtrack. Cool.
Great Stuff.
Really shows how good music sounds like!!!!
Thank you so much for Nocturne n. 7!
It's a precious gift and I really enjoyed recording it with you!
Salaam 'eleikum, Bruce!
I like your interpretation in the song "The Source". Interesting that you dedicated it to US-President Obama...
All the best for your next compositions and gigs.
Mandana
