California Rain is the latest of a series of projects by artist Daniel Messerli who emerged from the Hollywood music scene for the first time in 1986. The infamous local californian group "New Improved God", a hard driving punk group of the era was the first time attention fell on this multi-talented musician-songwriter. Working with Kent Jones from Atwater (CA), these two formed the creative heart of NIG. The conflicts with Disney Corp. however was a serious setback since the popular band logo was Mickey Mouse - crucified.
After Guns n Roses had been formed out of the two groups LA Guns and LA Roses, other musicians from LA Roses formed a new group named Bad Bones which Daniel Messerli joined in late 1989. Talented singer Jimmy Swan, discovered by now famous Philipp Shappiro spearheaded the promising Led Zeppelin style group. Starting in 1991, Daniel Messerli teamed up with famous ghost writer Ryan Rayston who supplied many Top 40 award winning artists with her priceless lyrics. Together they started a secret production company called East 24th Street Music. Working with various artists from around the world, they have produced a catalog of titles in many different musical styles for consultation by artists searching for new matierial. This collaboration is still ongoing. Daniel Messerli released a solo project under a new name, California Rain, after moving to Europe in 2003 where he is active upon request. This latest album, also named California Rain, is a rather successful presentation of popular music in a slight avant garde style, omitting percussion instruments to drive the rhythm and to let the song become the rhythm by itself. This gives this album a truly unique feel and a welcome change to the endless drumming and hacking of our stressed out society. Listening to this album is like rediscovering innocence.

I just love all of these tunes... so Pink Floyd, so artsy and so fresh ! I don't know how you get so much groove and not use drums... so back to basics and it works. Thanks so much for this inspiration.

Nous (lead guitariste, claviériste/chanteur, batteur) avec certaines ambitions malgré notre âge 48/50 ans) recherchons un bassiste et un chanteur-se créatifs, bon à très bon niveau, pour pop/rock et autres (nous sommes ouverts à tout) pour jouer et enregistrer nos compositions. Il va sans dire que les tiennes sont également les bienvenues.

Les répètes sont dédiées à l'exécution/arrangement par le groupe des oeuvres apprises et travaillées individuellement (partitions pour chaque musicien et enregistrements à dispo, sous GuitarPro, Samplitude, MIDI, etc.), ainsi qu'à la composition de nouvelles oeuvres.
Notre superbe local (in)sonorisé par un acousticien se trouve à Belmont/Lausanne (prochainement équipé studio enregistrement).
