Biography
***Cloris Biography***
It all began some eight thousand years ago within the confines an extraordinary flying object which had then been orbiting the Earth. The two armadillos Erman Sahin and Rainer Brenner had been abducted by aliens, and had sworn to start a band should they survive their thermo-nuclear transformation therapy into human form.
Everything went as planned for the extraterrestrials – Erman and Rainer mutated into two charming young men. And, of course, it was fate that had caused their paths to cross after twenty-two Earth years. Erman had then looked Rainer in the eye while pointing his finger at the heavens saying ‘We have a mission to accomplish while we still house these bodies’.
So they regularly met during the intergalactially convenient time period of 2003 at the Rote Fabrik in Zürich to write songs with piano and guitar.
But something was missing…
Meanwhile, in a parallel dimension, extraordinary sounds were emanating from the speakers of Joël Weil’s space capsule. It had been puttering through the universe for the past few million years in search of a band suitable for his self-constructed, multi-planetary rhythm machine. The laws of synchronicity beamed Joël right onto the drum stool in Erman and Rainer’s rehearsal room where he became a crucial member of the yet unnamed formation.
Pascal Walliman shortly took over the role of bassist, but cosmic commitments – he was currently undergoing Space Officer training – forced him back onboard his ship.
The Cloriosa Oracle was consulted in finding the whereabouts of a creature substitute. The Cloriosa, of course, was not prepared to simply offer a straight answer and thus softly whispered ‘He will come, the warrior who will lead your team to become the most powerful force in the universe’.
And behold! He came. His name was Sven and he beamed himself directly from the planet Snitch into the working environmnet of the transformed armadillos. He was prepared and willing to fight along with Cloris - the name had been recommended to him by the rather conceited Cloriosa Oracle – for galactic supremacy.
It was not long before the four brave warriors set off on their maiden voyage to Chur where the explosion of the Supernova MFS was being celebrated. From then on things began to move faster and faster: they fought side by side with My Chemical Romance, beamed themselves across the asteroid belt into the Swiss Zone and went on to fly with exborbitant Greats such as Billy Talent, Against Me!, Satanic Surfers and International Noise Conspiracy.
The time came when the spherical sounds needed to be transferred to an intercosmic data system. For this, the four creatures spent a week at the Dynamostudios in the Zürich Nebula constructing an awesomely powerful weapon together with Captain Urs. Armed and stronger than ever, the four space travellers sought yet further zones and destinations to conquer.
So let us continue to wish these four brave galactic knights ‘Farewell Satellite’. May the Force be with them!
Although the tones of ‘Farewell Satellite’ are no longer present in the live set, they have been successfully replaced by mighter, more powerful sounds. Rainer is now equipped with a new weapon – an atomic synthesizer – and as additional backup for the crew, Space Officer Päsci Suicide has materialized with a lethal second guitar.
