Biographie
Dario Benjamin has been infected with the DJ-virus in the midnineties and soon, inspired by the strongly upcoming Turntableism-movement, began developing his skills in scratching and beatjuggeling. Long years of training and jamming with local DJs and MCs, nourished his wish to compose his own songs, scratched and arranged after his own ideas. Multitrackrecording and sampling lend him a helping hand, creating his own sound, spacey with a jazzy note and 100% scratches (the good old vinyl only!). But then, somehow, the eighties he was born and raised in, stroke back and hit him hard. Influenced by the music of producer icons like Giorgio Moroder, Cerrone and Jan Hammer, Dario Benjamin discovered the blessing of synthesized music. Now his compositions went through a metamorphosis and became the new Dario-Benjamin-sound: a colorful, melodious trip through the spheres of 80s Discofunk, that led to his debut album "stop eliminationism".
