D VOX'S BIOGRAPHY
She started singing in 1969, at the age of 14 with a local top forty band called "The Piranhas".
Her first big stage appearance happened in Lausanne.
The audience was aggressive and told her to "go back to school", but, by the end of the first song, gave her a standing ovation.
She remembers that the stars of the moment were Julie Driscoll, Dusty Springfield, Blondie.

Short career biography :

1981: She lives in San Francisco and LA for 2 years sings and jams with people like Chet Baker, Art Pepper, etc...

1984 to 1987 : Back in Switzerland she performs with various top forty bands. From 1985 to 1990 she shows up very often backstage at the Montreux Jazz festival, singing just for fun at the " bar des musiciens " with top level world jazz musicians like Freddie Hubbard, Mc Coy Tyner, John Scofield, Q. Jones, Myriam Makeba, etc, etc... Amongst other exemples Michel Pettrucciani asks her to join his band but she does not follows up....

1987: Theater - she plays Colombine in “Les Deux Jumeaux”, directed by Alfredo Gnasso.
Steady work with : Duet, French songs: piano, voice, Rappo, Siegert. Trio, jazz: Lavanchy, Gaillard, Siegert. Quintet, latino, funky, jazz, rock with La Sbanda.

1988: The Trio performs at numerous places in Europe, mostly small jazz clubs.

1989: Gazoline, with Bruno Perret, a funky duet appears briefly on the biggest French channel.

1990: Theater, La Chambre Mandarine directed by F. Ingold. Music, Duet or trio with Mike Gaillard (and Popol Lavanchy) at the Moulin à Danse, les Faux-Nez, la Quinzaine d'Orbe, etc. Duet Rapp, Siegert, Music with machines. Go Tell It to the Birds, rock combo, which performed at La Frat (Lausanne), Les Fêtes de Pully, Le Cram (Monthey), Faux-Nez (Lausanne), Anciennes-Prisons (Moudon), Le Mirabilis (Sion), etc.

1991: D.Vox and Colors, with Maurice Peretti. Theater, 1st role in “les 3 Chapeaux Claque” written by Miguel Miura and directed by Alfredo Gnasso.

1992: Goes back to the States.

1994: Louis, her son, is born.

1995: Dany takes care of her son, sings mainly for the pleasure. For instance in Paris with Myriam Makeba ( 1996 ) this same year she is also noticed by Lady Di in a small jazz Club ( Le Pélikan ), etc, etc…

2000: Three guys decide to bring her under higher exposure, producing a CD and trying to put a tour together to sell it. They were motivated to take on such a demanding challenge
but soon realized the real difficulties involved. It took over three years to achieve the finished
product.

2003: The CD is out.
