Everything Lee Schornoz touches turns to scrap - and valuable scrap at that! So, nothing has changed since his first appearances in the eighties. Powerful, instinctive and direct, he vehemently hacks at the instrument, his fellow musicians and the sweet melodies with all his physical strength.
...
It is therefore all the more wonderful how he, a hillbilly, despite all the pre-conditions, achieves such a rousing momentum with his self-produced detritus, transporting himself as well as the listener far beyond the abysms of the infinite world of music. If one searches for him in the excavations in the Ethiopian outback, he is already back conjuring up lush bass sounds somewhere between Berlin and Rome.
...
Lee Schornoz already laid the first foundations for his uncompromising musical attitude in his bold beginnings with Zodiac. In his early years of musical activity together with his brother André Schornoz - today more committed to folk music - he formed not only a (brothers) heart and soul – but also a good team that gave various bands such as Lawman or even Groove Lords form and spice.
Since then, Lee Schornoz has fought constantly and courageously for his music and has equally as tenaciously further honed his style. With his own projects and productions he has matured into a producer and music expert as well as DJ. During his time as a journalist at the forefront of the Swiss defence wall - as editor of a food magazine, – he also learnt that Quark can be interesting. In his writings, newsletters as well as his song lyrics, he could now let his huge creative potential run wild: striking, unrestrained and refreshing poetry.

After his experience with L.S.D. (Louis Schornoz Drei), Subnee or even Anshelle in which he was able to exploit and downright plough through different musical genres, in 2006 the time was finally ripe for the rhythms and grooves of Expander. With his partners in crime Mago and Adi Flück (as well as ex- Felka keyboard player Flo Wyss as guest musician and occasional video producer), they turned their rehearsal room into a further forge in the Berne music scene: the Caliber Club.
Thus began the expansion of Expander. In this environment bands like: Zeno Tornado & The Boney Google Brothers, Menic, Dead Brothers, filewile, King Louis, Blues Horror Brigade, Clochard Deluxe and Theo's Fried Chicken goals worked their magic. Expander is therefore actually a non-band band: it still somehow exists - you still meet them from time to time in the Caliber Club. All of them are working on their own projects, but the exchange remains vigorous on both the musical as well as the technical level.
...
A milestone was the first regular Expander disc in 2007. Working on it was an important lesson for all involved.

As computer and Web expert, Christoph, “Endo” Berger continues to help the capacity of Caliber-conglomerate on the communication level. Together with Lee, he is also responsible for the moon landings of the Blues Horror Brigade. Even Michael Spahr is on the land station to create the perfect fusion of video, performance and sound experiments. Much of it - such as the unique documentation of the invasion of extraterrestrial beings - can be viewed on (youtube.com/nicstage). A large following looks forward to the further offerings of the Brigade (facebook.com/pages/Blues-Horror-Brigade/241695844851). The fat guitar riffs and the Hell drum rattle are the runway for the UFO invasion.

The colonial ruler King Louis (with Misses Lehmann and Charles Monroe) has allowed himself to be filmed for Pro Stata Records, Warsaw, Poland in his private Ethiopian chambers ... amazing! (myspace.com/kinglouisband). His fierce music on "Holidays in Purgatory" at least leaves no doubt as to the leap of civilization: it rips brutally, wild, yes ... ecstatically! To let off steam! The solid sound of this disc will leave no one indifferent. For his solo performances Lee also holds a couple of these songs at the ready….
...
Lee is and remains the untouched King, even if he currently no longer regularly performs or is heard with King Louis. In his solo performances, he can offer no less an impressive fanfare for the ears, creating a cosy atmosphere into which the audience plunges and from which he then awakes, moves and touches them with virtuoso chord combinations. With Clochard Deluxe he has proved how easily he also manages to make the last straggler in the crowd dance. If he is still a king without a crown, he doesn’t really need it either, because as DJ Tarzan he watches over the city jungle with his wonderful vinyl records of all genres and his striking presence is an occasion to experience.
...
If he is not practising in the recording studio in Berlin with Theo's Fried Chicken doors, in Italy with Expander or in Carnegie Hall alone or anywhere else where there are concerts... he can definitely be found working on the next planned heroics in the Caliber Club...
...
Perhaps he was not the best in school ... but so much scrap? Top-quality!
