Milena, a girl with Spanish and Italian roots, was born on 7 January 1986 and raised in Volketswil, near the city of Zürich in Switzerland.

Milena, a girl with Spanish and Italian roots, was born on 7 January 1986 and raised in Volketswil, near the city of Zürich in Switzerland.
She was only a little girl when she realized that she really loves to sing and that music would be an essential part of her life. She discovered her passion thanks to an Italian club, of which her dad was and still is a member that organizes various events all over the year, among others small theaters and choirs. Thanks to these collective performances Milena realized how much she loves to sing, and thereby, she started to do solo performances. It became a habit to rehearse new songs which she performed on these events. To her great pleasure, Milena received many positive feedbacks from the audience as well as useful advises not to sneer her talent. Thus, she decided to attend singing lessons in order to improve her singing, which, unfortunately, lasted only for two years as her vocal coach left Switzerland.
Apart from her music path, with the age of six, Milena started her education at the Swiss elementary school, continuing with the secondary school at the age of twelve. Thanks to the wide-ranging offers of her school, in the last year of secondary school she was given the opportunity to live out her hobby and passion and attend the course “band and choir”. During that year, together with other classmates of this course, a pop/rock band was created. In summer 2001, after completing secondary school, Milena began her professional career passing a commercial apprenticeship in 2004.
Fortunately, a good friend and band member insisted on keeping the band alive even after schooldays. In fact, the band kept on making music, also thanks to the band’s coach who always supported and inspired the band members. The band named “2nd start” was composed by members with many different music preferences, which is why their music bounced from Latin songs to Pop or Rock. Milena loves to look back on this time when she was singing with “2nd start”, from which she could acquire a lot of onstage experience as well as started to compose her own music and lyrics. The outcome of all these lively experiences was Milena’s first composition, the ballad “It never can be”, which was recorded in studio in the early 2005. At the end of the same year and beginning of 2006, Milena composed and recorded three other songs, this time in Spanish “Hasta nunca cariño”, “Vivir nuestro amor”, and “Para vivir”. During several years and despite some changes, the band went on maturating and improving. Sadly, due to different personal perspectives pursued by each band member, “2nd start” finally split during the summer 2008.
In addition to the singing, rhythm is also a very important part of Milena’s life, given to her through her Latin blood. She always loved to dance and move! Hence, since 2002, she practices Majorette and Twirling, which is a dance art performed with a ferric stick that is included in the dance choreographies. Additionally, during one year, she danced Flamenco and had an introduction course to Salsa.
