Biographie
Nick Johnson is an acoustic singer-songwriter from Pleasanton, California. In September 2007 he moved to Switzerland where he started his career in music. While working as a chef in the Swiss Alps, Nick spent every free moment playing and composing music on his guitar. In the tranquility of the mountains, disconnected from the hustle of modern day life, Nick entered a period of creativity where he found his artistic voice. It was during this time that Nick wrote the songs that would lead to his debut album, “We Are Blind”.
“We Are Blind” is an exploration of Nick’s views on the social issues facing his generation as seen through his past relationships and experiences. The album is named after the song “We Are Blind” which examines the distraction that pop culture has over the more serious problems facing our society. Other songs like, “One More Day”, “Stop Loving Me” and “Too Much” are depictions of Nick’s past relationships, the good and the bad. “We Are Blind” was released in the summer of 2012 by Day One Records.
Day One Records first discovered Nick through word of mouth in the international community in Zurich. Nick was living with a family that opened their home to him so he could focus on his music. After some encouragement from his new adopted family, Nick decided to search for someone to help record his songs. In a matter of months he was Introduced to aspiring producer Mike Day. After Mike heard Nick’s songs, he realized the potential Nick and his music had and decided to get more involved in giving Nick an opportunity to live out his dream by bringing his music to life. Mike connected Nick with other musicians and within a year they were in the studio creating “We Are Blind”.
Nick is currently performing around Switzerland with his band and was recently selected as one of eight finalists in the Caprices New Talent Contest out of over 360 bands. For further questions and information about booking, news, and upcoming shows, please contact Nick Johnson via email:
