Go astray...“off the known road“...this is what parties break hearts did in 2008, when they signed a record deal with England based Lockjaw Records (first label of the band MUSE) to release their debut album entitled “Life is too short to dance with ugly people”.
The path that leads abroad is one that requires bravery, let alone a chance to follow it, something earned only by the fewest Swiss bands. Following the record’s release in Great Britain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, parties break hearts had the chance to tour throughout these countries with Die Happy, Senses Fail and The Flatliners among others. Touring led the band to play also at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, hometown of the Beatles.
Although parties break hearts had hoped for the ideal debut record deal with Lockjaw Records, they were never completely satisfied, due to the label’s focus on the British market. The Swiss market would have been a solid basis for the young band, an opportunity which was unfortunately missed.
Exactly one year after the release of their debut, parties break hearts are back home from their distant travels. The single “go astray” will be released on 01.10.2009 as an exclusive free download on the internet and as part of the Swiss radios’ rotation. The song tells the story behind departing into the distance and the unknown. It poses the question “How did we come this far?” which reflects the nostalgic longing for home, the place where everything began.
“Go astray” is a song by a band that dared taking a massive step, made new experiences and learned through them. Now they are back home and this is yet only the beginning…
