Positiv is a Swiss reggae band based in Geneva. Formed in 2007, the band's members were less than 15 years old when they started playing together under the name "Positiv". After the first years of discovery and learning, they created their own style of reggae, mixing roots reggae with their individual influences like soul, rock, jazz, or afrobeat. It makes their music unique, amazing and powerful.

Furthermore, Positiv is deeply original due to the vocals, as three different singers sing in different styles. One is mostly influenced by sixties and seventies rock, another by rocksteady soulful vocal style, listening to singer such as Alton Ellis, Ken Boothe or Al Green, and last but not least, the third one charms anyone who hears her unique and sweet voice.
In the last five years, the band played almost 100 gigs in Switzerland and in the french neighbourhood, playing in the most reputed venues. They made prestigious first parts, opening for artist such as Horace Andy, Tippa Irie, Raggasonic, Danakil, Dub Inc, ...

In 2009, they started working with Little Lion Sound, organizing shows in Geneva. Also, Positiv began to play as backing band with local singers such as Nello B born in Jamaica. Then they met Errol Organs and toured with him in Switzerland in autumn 2010, and in summer 2011 all over Europe with Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace. They spent 3 months with the latter learning how to play real roots reggae music. He taught them the secrets of this music and gave them many links to go further. In 2012, having gained a rich background and experience, they backed the veteran jamaican singer Al Campbell and the famous toaster Ranking Joe for shows in Geneva.

After more than one year of hard work, Positiv is proud to present their first album Never Know featuring their close friend Horsemouth. This first album is an explosive melting pot of roots reggae, jazz and rock with a touch of dub and nyahbinghi. The band is, on this occasion, joined by a powerful horns section from Paris, the Faya Horns. The album has been recorded between Geneva, Paris and Kingston, mixed in Neuchâtel (Switzerland) and mastered at Lion & Fox Studios (Washington DC).
