as everyone knows, common interpretations of rock n’ roll contain uncontrolled hair growth, vast amounts of inspiring substances, even greater amounts of self-overestimation, and sexual contact with all kinds of creatures. now, inspiring substances and self-overestimation are surely fine things, but celebrating the state of nature makes not much sense while living in a country as decadent as switzerland – even less while living in zurich – so we forgot about the uncontrolled hair growth and the non-selective sexual behaviour and decided to sing about apocalyptic scenarios, as well as about all the fuck-ups one meets during a long day in a city like ours (especially in the night one gets to see some really impressive examples), thus pyle’s lyrics are best described as senselessly conspiratorial and hopelessly disillusioned, but also as aggressive and – in a stylish way - very unfair. terminus technicus for this kind of activity is ‘epic bitch rock’ – ‘epic’ because of the senseless stories we sing about, ‘bitch’ because this is what you are when you live where we live, and of course, since this whole thing is underlined by loud guitars and catchy beats it is properly called ‘rock’.
