Behind Shimoda hides a seasoned actor of the underground experimental electronic & jazz scene of southern Switzerland, for doing pop… Shimoda is also a town in Southern Japan, which happen to be one of the first towns of the eastern empire to open to western culture sometime around 1850. So using that nick name make sense, as for the musician it feels right to open to different culture and influences too and shift, from time to time, interest from almost left brain pure experimental stuff to sensitive pop music that speaks to the emotional side of humans, albeit with a bit of synth and saturated guitar in it nevertheless, just don’t let the underground dudes know about it!

So the chap using that Shimoda name has been around for a while, has played in some rather radical punk bands and has had some enlightening moments in a famous jazz school. But really some nice sounding contemporary ambiant/rock/pop/triphop, with a bit of groove and nice melodies, along with doing whatever you love doing, regardless of genres, communities and churches is what counts at the end of the day, isn’t it?
