Sonpalaria entsteht als Tessiner Volkstümliche Musikgruppe im Jahre 2005, momentan besteht die Formation aus 7 fixe Elemente.
Die Instrumente di gebraucht werden sind nicht nur tüpisch aus Tessiner und Norditalienische Regionen; interessant ist der Mix mit Südliche Instrumente wie Djambé.
Die Musikgruppe hat das erste mal am Weihnachtsmarkt in Rivera gespielt. Von damals sind die Konzerte immer mehr geworden und neue Elemente haben Platz genommen mit auch eigene Lieder.
