SummerMay is a project that was born after hours of Jamming by the 2 original members and meticulously adding the right musicians.

A School of Rock vibe is definitely what defines the band.
"We focus on emotions rather than dry technical skills often taught at your local music school".
"It's not about the quality of your gears or the number of notes you can play per seconds, but the emotional connection that drowns the band into a higher place and hopefully connects with the crowd."

They add that they are not here to entertain but hope that the introspective, atmospheric, (add spiritual if you want) will bring the listener into the twilight zone.
A place we can reconnect with ourselves, and realized there is more that what meet the eyes.

Shoegazer was indeed the music of choice to sustain SummerMay quest. Ethereal, atmospheric, reverb sounds through countless ordered pedal settings creating a feeling of grandeur.

What set them apart in the shoegazer scene is their love for dynamics, fluctuating between clean spacey parts into walls of overdriven distortions.
As one fan once said well; SummerMay is a little bit of country, little bit of rock and roll.

They are here for the long run, passionate and ready to rock with whoever wants to listen!

Das Projekt SummerMay wurde nach stundenlangem Jamming von den zwei Gründungsmitgliedern ins Leben gerufen und dann um die richtigen, sorgfältig ausgewählten Musiker erweitert.

Was die Band ausmacht, sind definitiv ihre „School of Rock”-Vibes. „Wir setzen eher auf Emotionen als auf rein technisches Können, wie es oft an Musikschulen gelehrt wird.“
„Es geht uns nicht um die Qualität der Instrumente oder die Anzahl an Tönen, die man pro Sekunde spielen kann, sondern um die emotionale Verbindung, die die Band in andere Sphären versetzt und das Publikum hoffentlich mitnimmt.“

Weiter erklärten sie, dass es nicht ihr Anliegen sei zu unterhalten, dass sie vielmehr hofften, den Zuhörer durch das Introspektive, Atmosphärische, (vielleicht auch Spirituelle) in einen Zwischenbereich, eine Grauzone zu entführen.
An einen Ort, wo wir uns selbst wiederfinden und erkennen können, dass es mehr gibt als nur das, was wir mit unseren Augen sehen.

Shoegazer war tatsächlich die Musikrichtung erster Wahl, die SummerMay in diesem Anliegen unterstützt.
Ätherische, atmosphärische, hallende Klänge durch unzählige Effekte rufen ein Gefühl der Erhabenheit und Weite hervor.

Was sie innerhalb der Shoegazer-Szene einzigartig macht, ist ihre Liebe zur Dynamik, die zwischen klaren, spacigen Parts und übertrieben verzerrten Klangwänden wechselt.
