The band have become more close knit, and as singer/guitarist Magnus Irvine says “.. the progress we’ve made in this last year is amazing.. the sound is tighter, fatter, but the raw energy and soul can still be felt, it still moves you.. the bass and drums continue sinking their claws into your stomach
lining.. the melodies are there.. the guitar.. raucous, dreamy..”. Now, with the newest addition of Filomena Felley on Viola, their style has been opened up to countless possibilities.

With their raw, upbeat and soulful sound they really let go on stage and in the studio - their Rock n’Roll
and Blues, mixed with a touch of Big Beat and Reggae really gets the juices flowing. A lot of the appeal lies in the catchy melodies and the dynamics of the songs, something that can readily be heard in the tracks “aim for the head” and “move to the country”.

Lyrically the tracks are from the heart and touch on personal experiences in life and relationships, but with that something that all of us can connect to. The Blackspots have previously been compared to the Libertines, the Eagles of Death Metal and the White Stripes. While the similarities are still there, they have continued to develop and
individualise their style, listen and decide for yourself!
