UniverStarProd revisite ses archives et y retrouve une perle rare des 70s : le quatuor norvégien BAAB (amusant acronyme constitué des noms de famille des membres du groupe: Bøe, Andersen, Arnesen et Brekke).
Cet excellent groupe est pourtant passé à côté d'une brillante carrière internationale, à cause d'une machination politique indigne de leurs voisins suédois. Vainqueur haut la main du tour préliminaire du concours Eurovision de la Chanson 1974 en Norvège, BAAB est accusé de plagiat. Cette odieuse calomnie aurait pu être rapidement réparée si le groupe ne s'était pas fait voler les bandes de "Oh Maria !" enregistrée secrètement en 1972 déjà.
Mais l'affront est enfin lavé. FF&RL les ont retrouvées (dans des cartons de whisky single malt pure scotch). Après un rapide travail de nettoyage et de rénovation des bandes, vous pouvez maintenant apprécier l'ampleur du talent des ancêtres de A-ha, Björk et des Scissor Sisters!
Et comme on dit à Oslo: Skål!

UniverStarProd digs a jewel out it 70s archives : the Norwegian foursome BAAB (the name is an amusing acronym of its members' last names : Bøe, Andersen, Arnesen et Brekke).
This excellent group nearly had an amazing international career, hadn't it been for some somber political scam lead by their Swedish neighbors. After having easily won the first round of the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest in Norway, BAAB was accused of plagiarism. This odious scheme would have been quickly thwarted by producing the original tape recordings of "Oh Maria !" that had been secretly done in 1972 already. But they got stolen.
But thanks to FF&RL's intensive search, history is about to be rewritten: they found the recordings (inside pure scotch single malt whiskey cases). After a quick clean and renovation, you may now appreciate the extent of the talent of the ancestors of A-ha, Björk and the Scissor Sisters!
So as we say in Oslo: Skål!

Comment vous dire, le bonheur de UniverStarProduction lorsqu'ils rencontrent le Brabant-Wallon Lodewyk van Aanval, mieux connu sous le patronyme Luis Defensa. Ce jeune homme plein de contraste et de sensibilité, aux textes enivrants, nous fait voyager loin de sa Belgique natale.
En effet, cet agent commercial, son master d'éco délivré par l'université de Namur en poche, part 6 mois en Erasmus à Talavera de la Reina, dans la Région de Madrid, où il s'adonne aux plaisirs de la guitarra flamenca, des danseuses et de la sangria sans fruit.
De retour chez lui, il retrouve ses amis Dédé au tambour, Juju à la contrebasse et Titine au violon et les envoûte de ses accords septièmes majeurs. Mettant à contribution ses talents de commercial voyageur, il s'achète un bus VW et file par monts et par vaux avec sa bande de joyeux drilles.

What a great pleasure UniverStarProduction had to meet the Brabant-Wallon Lodewyk van Aanval, better know as Luis Defensa. That young man, full of constrasts and sensitivity, with intoxicating lyrics, brings us far away to his Belgian home.
Indeed, after getting his economy master's degree at the University of Namur, this commercial officer decides to take a 6 months Erasmus trip to Talavera de la Reina, on the outskirts of Madrid. There, he enjoys the pleasures of guitarra flamenca, dancers and fruitless sangria.
Back home, he finds his friends again (Dédé on the drum, Juju on the bass and Titine on the violin) and charms them with his 7th major chords. Using his traveling salesman skills, he buys a VW bus and hits the road with his bunch of merry friends.

Michael Ghetto grandit dans la grisaille de Lille où il trouve son reconfort auprès de ses "machines". A 18 ans, il quitte le cocon familial pour monter sur Paris. Il y fait rapidement connaissance d'artistes de renom comme Alistair Blitheringworth (Équité) ou MaKro.

In their quest for the new Johnny Halliday, UniverStar hired Frederic Frederic and Robert Leonard to find the new star in any bar. As they were about to give up their impossible research, they ended up in a suburban underground pub of the city of Liège - the Glory Night - to discover a mix of celtic music and acrobatic rock: the Killer Pythons. USP was immediately seduced, and signed Maarten Van der Vlut, the Pythons' lead guitarist for a lifelong contract.
