Biographie
Pacifik Soul was born in Cali (Valle) in 2007, with Edier Sinisterra and John Okoro , young self-taught composers of African descent who consolidated the duo initially called Makanga traditional African language name used for males and means " Blue Star" .
The artistic beginnings of the group and many songs came to the banks of the Cali River, which passes in front of the house in the neighborhood La Isla, where they gathered to improvise rudimentary tools such as logs turned into guitars and percussion, which allowed them to participate and promote local meetings around music . Subsequently Congo were called, to refer to the origin of many enslaved and social problems of the African country 's western coast . Deeply influenced by The Temptations American group Rhythm and Blues (R & B) , a genre of African-Americans that emerged from the decade of the forties and fifties , derivative styles like jazz, gospel and blues , and one of the most popular styles in the United States, whose name was introduced in 1948 by Jerry Wexler of Billboard magazine , as a term for the American music market.
The duo was renamed Color Temptation , name that lasted for several years, until much identified with the cultural contexts built in Colombia for several generations born in the Colombian Pacific decided to called Pacifik Soul and make visible their music , with a new look and a new soft Rhythm & Blues, while retaining the ancestral trail .
