Born in Neuchâtel, Mathieu "Pistol Beat" has been playing the guitar for quite a while. He started classical guitar at the age of eight and has been practicing it ever since. Given rock and blues influences, he gave up (momentarily) classical guitar to replace it by an oldish-shabby electrical-six-strings stratocaster with whom he had a lot of children.. his first love in fact!
He took lessons for almost two years but then understood that it was not by stubbornly going to his electrical guitar lessons that he would improve much his skill. Learning by himself, seizing every original stuff that he could find in whatever kind of music, Mate has developped his own sense of (and sensitivity to) music..
He shows off the first time on stage as he was seventeen and then performed with a local rock band for four years with several concerts and an album. He has had the opportunity to take part into various projects (hip hop, a blues singer among others).
These many different kinds of music and influences allow him to grasp music as it really is and take the best of every musical style. Not caring much about identifying to a certain category, Mate's style is quite difficult to classify, but at the same time, it has this originality of gathering and mixing various styles. Given his interest to everything that is electrical and technological, his first tube is an electro song that has nothing to do with guitar but that is much about his manner of liking varying and listening to all kind of different music...
His musical goal ? Offering energetic cool vibes and make people smile!
