Biography
Ras Romano was born 1984 in the beautiful small town of Bern in Switzerland! Already at a small age he started to love music! First instrument he learned was the bamboo flute, like almost every young kid around! With ten years then he began to play the guitar, witch he really loved! After listening thru almost every kind of music like punk, metal, rock, blues, jazz, hip hop he started to love ska music and not long after that he discovered reggae music! After buying several Lp’s of the King Bob Marley he began to collect reggae music and together with his friends MC Rama and Ranking Tom he decided to make a Sound system! So 2004 Zion Sounds International was born and till today Ras Romano and MC Rama are running the sound system! Already in this time he started to sing his own songs with his guitar! Each day he loved reggae music more and more and so he began to search for a band to play his Songs! After quite a long time he got his band “The Rockers” together, and since 2006 they have already given over 10 Shows in different Places! The Rockers: New on the keys we have "Blazing Lion" also know as Selector under that nickname, Then there’s the offbeat men Sascha on the guitar playing with the Rockers since 2006, same year we’ve got the sweet voice from sister Jahmanda on the background vocals, on the clarinet we have Caspar that gives us his grooving sound since 2007, Mr. Bassie Anthony drops the basslines since 2008 and on the drums we’ve got Mighty Mike also playing since summer 2008. If you have seen Ras Romano & The Rockers live you will surely remember the sweet and sharp voice of Ras Romano cause she has something very special and you won’t forget the deep Roots Reggae style of the Rockers!
