Biography
The Drainpipes are a wild, highly energetic rockabilly outfit from Switzerland. Formed at the beginning of 2006, they combine the sound and look from the fifties with the influences they get from modern life.
They do some more or less known covers and never-heard-before originals, mainly sung by David, backed with his wild and versatile electric guitar, Martin's solid rhythm strumming, Rogers impressive upright bass and Daniela's simple barebone drums.
They all have different musical backgrounds, having gone through Punk, Indie Noise, Beat, Psychobilly, Ska, Irish Folk and even electronic Kraut stuff, and though they do straight Rockabilly and Country, they never forget about the last 60 years of musical history.
In the past year they've already played several highly successful gigs with acts such as the Peacocks or Slim Jim Phantom Trio feat. Darrel Higham. In August 2006, they recorded their first 45 EP, released on PILOT Records.
