Biography
ALUDVIA, an ensemble at the confluences of jazz, ancient music and music from India.
The cross-over ensemble ALUDVIA brings together forces from different cultures and rich professional backgrounds.
Alain Bertschy, who initiated the project, has sung a repertoire from the Renaissance to the present day at an international level. A rocker in his youth, he has returned to lighter colours.
Hannes Fankhauser, a jazz double bass player, was originally trained as a classical blower. His talents have motivated him to create original groups where he plays various instruments and approaches the music with joy and fantasy.
Udhai Mazumdar, a graduate of the Indian classical school of singing and tabla, was - among others - a student and percussionist of Ravi Shankar. His art has taken him all over the world and his interest in other cultures has enriched his playing.
Vincent Flückiger swapped the electric guitar for the archlute after training in early music. He has not forgotten the wild riffs, even though he is now one of the most sought-after lutenists in baroque music.
