4th time around (Helium Records/RecRec) from Basel, Switzerland have signed away their passion to Alternative Country music. They chant about love, death and devil, and go for banjo, mandolin und harp. 4th time around play Alternative Country and Neofolk, but decline the clichés of the of the genre. They neither wear cowboy hats nor have any idea what the air in Tennesse smells like. But they love the unspectacular, commited and poetic songwriting of the early 20th century of long gone singers like Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly, Cisco Houston & Co. Nowadays Alternative Country is on everyone’s lips thanks to songwriters like Ryan Adams, Bonnie Prince Billy oder Johnny Cash’s American Recordings. 4th time around’s proud individualism does naturally interdict such comparisons. On the other side, who doesn’t like being buttered up? And therefore: Yes that’s the kind of sound. Or easier: Fine songwriting will always find open ears. After the first EP in 2004 elected practitioners (which means Swiss music journalists and stuff...) 4th time around on the biggest music festival from Basel to the best band. Airplay on Switzerland’s and Germany’s most known radio stations followed. The band played shows all over the map with bands like I Am Kloot, St. Thomas, Lovebugs and the Dead Brothers. 2006 the first album will be released.
